TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Mercedes introduced concept electric car Mercedes F015 in the North American 2015 Auto Show (NAIAS). The car adopts the sophisticating autonom system that enables it to be a self-driving car.
According to the Director of Daimler AG Dieter Zetsche, the Germany car is not only offering the concept of a 'clean' transportation unit.
“Anyone who focuses solely on technology has not yet grasped how autonomous driving car will change our society,” Dr. Dieter said as written on Mercedes’ official website.
Mercedes F 015 is intended to be a sedan but the rounded corners makes it more look like a minibus. It has spacious interious provided with four all-direction-adjustable seats. Passengers can even turn the seat to face each other. There is no knobs on the door, Mercedes put on touch screen instead.
The car is made of carbon fiber, aluminum, and light steel alloys in general but there are panels made of woods and nappa leather on the inside. LED lights and Mercy logo decorate the car’s front grille.
Driver is offered two options : running on automatic driving or manual driving. When driven in automatic mode, the car would emit blue light that changes into white light when driven in a manual mode.
F015 is powered with hybrid electric batteries with fuel cell that can take the car up to 200 kilometers in one recharge.
