KPK Summons Tobacco Company Bosses Related to Hajj Fund Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission has summoned two witnesses related to the investigation of the alleged Hajj fund corruption for the 2012 to 2013 period. KPK's Head of News and Information Division, Priharsa Nugraha, said that the two witnesses were Commissioner I of PT Dugapat Mas, Henny Widiyanti, and General Affair Manager of PT Dugapat Mas, Dita Ari Savitri.
"Both were examined as witnesses for suspect SDA [Suryadharma Ali]," Priharsa said on Thursday, January 15, 2015. Based on a research, PT Dugapat Mas is a company that manufactures cigarettes, cigars, and tobacco.
Previously, Deputy Chief of KPK Bambang Widjojanto, stated that the Hajj fund corruption case involving former Minister of Religion Suryadharma Ali is considered as a priority case. Investigators are expected to complete the examinations at the end of this month, Bambang said.
KPK has established former Minister of Religion Suryadharma Ali as a suspect of the alleged corruption of Hajj fund for the 2012 to 213 period on May 22, 2014. SDA was suspected for embezzling hajj accommodation funds with a total budget of more than Rp 1 trillion.
