TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - At least three people on at East Bekasi District, Bekasi, West Java, were dead one day after consuming bootleg liquors.
Spokesperson of Bekasi Police Adj. Comr. Siswo said that the victims were identified as Hermansyah (39), Ki Bagus Suntara (32), and Yanto (39).
"One person survived,” Siswo said, adding that the victims drank bootleg liquor mixed with soda water.
"They drank a lot,” Siswo added.
The victim who survived, Sulistyo Adi Wibowo, said that his friend Yanto was the one who died first.
His family then rushed him to the hospital not far from his house in Aren Jaya. Afterwards, he was taken to Bekasi regional hospital. However, his life could not be saved as he died on the way to the hospital.
Another victim Hermansyah died four hours later or at 6pm, followed by Ki Bagus, who died at 10pm.
The East Bekasi Police are now intensively investigating Sulistiyo.
