Indonesia Clinches Silver Medal at Junior Science Olympiad

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A student of Ipeka International Christian School (IICS), Jakarta, secured silver medal in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) which was held on December 2 until December 11 in Mendoza, Argentina. The 14-year-old Patrick Bryan Nugraha becomes one of the bests among 185 participants from 32 countries.
Bryan joined the selection fro the 2014 IJSO after winning gold medal in the National Science Olypiad (OSN) for physics category in Padang on May. Bryan was selected alongside 12 other participants and he became the only representative for Jakarta.
IJSO is an annual science competition for students who are fifteen years or younger. The competition involved jury from educational institutions in Argentina called the RECREO. Last year, it was held in Pune, India.
“My biggest challenge during the competition was how to take control over myself by remained calm and not feeling intimidated by the opponent,” Bryan said.
