TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - One more mobile application that offers information about local tourism is launched for free of charge welcoming the end of 2014. WisataLokal, the name of the application, contains around 1,500 tourism spots.
“We target to offer up to 12,000 tourism sites,” said Mico Wendy, the chief of the app developer on Friday, December 12.
The application can be downloaded on Android and Windows-based devices starting from last Tuesday.
"To promote local tourist sites, users can add more sites that are not already on the search list," said the graduate of ITB Civil Engineering and Master of Management.
The app features Point of Interest divides the search options into town or district, provincial, national parks, and islands. This feature differs WisataLokal to other similar applications that offer information based on town or provincial search.
There are also features for photos, maps, articles, ratings and review of places. The information can be shared through social media. The developer gathered information from various sources such as books, internet, and folks stories.
“In the future, it will have information about culture such as folk dance and custom houses,” Mico said.
