TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bandung Land Rover Club is having its hey day among tourists who want to enjoy Bandung nature beauty on a four-wheel drive vehicle. The Land Rover taxis are always fully booked during weekends.
“We are overwhelmed, sometimes we have to refuse,” said a member of the club Iman Nur Adi on Friday, December 19.
On weekends, 100 to 200 Land Rovers transport local and foreign tourists to the mountainous areas in north or south of Bandung such as Sukawana, Lembang, Tangkuban Perahu, Cikole, Soreang, Ciwidey,or Pengalengan.
About 70 percent of the tourists come from Jakarta. The renters are usually groups of up to 1000-people company workers.
The Land Rover taxi business was initiated in 2004. Arie Yashar Yusuf, the Chairman of the club said that there are around 400 members of the club with 250 active vehicles.
