Hundreds of CCTV to Monitor Christmas, New Year in Airport

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 868 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras will be operate to secure Christmas and New Year holiday in Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
“The cameras will be installed in terminals, access control, perimeter road and traffic control,” Head of Public Relations and Soekarno-Hatta Airport Protocol, Yudis Tiawan, said on Monday, Dec 22.
CCTVs will help the performance of hundreds of securities from the Avition Security, “Garnisum” Air Force troops, Military Police and Soekarno-Hatta Police Resort, Yudis said.
Soekarno-Hatta airport will also provide security facilities such as an X-ray with a walk through metal detector and hand held metal detector device. “The device is directly controlled by airport technicians,” he said.
PT Angkasa Pura II will also coordinate with Soekarno-Hatta airport Resort Police to tighten security on ticket and boarding pass checking along with their carry-on luggages. “Harmful things that endanger the flight will be secured,” Yudis said.
A 4-percent increase in passenger is expected during this Christmas and New Year holiday with its peak on Dec 24.
