TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bekasi Police will deploy 100 personnel to secure Christmas and New Year celebrations in the city.
“We are watching over a total of 121 churches in Bekasi Regency,” Bekasi Police spokesperson First Inspector Makmur on Saturday, December 20, 2014.
According to Makmur, Bekasi Police will also conduct areal patrols. Officers will monitor spots that are vulnerable to crimes.
Makmur explained that Bekasi Police will also work with churches’ internal security to prevent breaches from people outside of the congregation.
“Police will guarantee the security for Christmas,” Makmur added.
Bekasi deputy regent Rohim Mintareja called on community members to maintain order and participate in ensuring security during Christmas.
