TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Recent depreciations of the Russian Rouble against the US dollar have made Google more valuable than the entire Russian share market.
According to a Bloomberg report, the Russian share market, which is valued at US$325 million, is worth significantly than Google, which was recently valued at US$340 million.
Russian gold reserves have also plunged to a five-year low, according to a report by Time.
Google is a part of an elite group of publicly-traded companies with large capitalizations, along with Exxon Mobile, Microsoft, and Apple.
The Rouble's decline is caused by the continued decline in global oil prices, as well as the sanctions imposed by the West for its involvement in the Ukraine crisis.
