TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Low-cost carrier PT Citilink Indonesia announced it had sold all tickets for a number of flights, including those serving the Jakarta-Surabaya, Jakarta-Medan, Jakarta Denpasar, and Jakarta-Kupang routes.
Citilink’s corporate communications vice president Benny S. Butarbutar said the tickets were sold out a week ago.
“We had to propose extra flights,” Benny told Tempo on Friday, December 19, 2014.
Benny revealed that Citilink added three extra flights for the routes of Jakarta-Medan, two for Jakarta-Surabaya, and another one for Jakarta-Denpasar. Benny added that 95 percent of seats for flights serving tourism routes from Jakarta to Surabaya and from Jakarta to Denpasar had been booked.
“We have to maintain our on time performance level at 75 percent,” Benny said.
Despite such a condition, Benny said that Citilink applied tariff based on the regulations.
Earlier, the Transportation Ministry approved extra flights proposed by four airlines, namely Garuda Indonesia, Citilink Indonesia, NAM Air and Sriwijaya Air to anticipate increasing passengers ahead of the holiday season.
