TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transjakarta provided six buses for bikers who are unable to pass through Medan Merdeka Barat Street and Hotel Indonesia Roundabout. The six buses operate from Harmoni to Semanggi routers.
“We were told by the Transportation Ministry to help bikers ever since the regulation that restricts motor vehicles in protocol roads has been imposed,” said Syaiful Adnan, Transjakarta on board officer, on Wednesday.
According to Syaiful, the buses operate from 05:00am to 08:00pm and do not pass through busway lane. It takes about 30 minutes to go through one round from Harmoni to HI Roundabout and one hour from Semanggi to Harmoni.
Syaiful said bikers can ride Transjakarta buses through terminals along Gajah Mada, Hayam Wuruk and Jenderal Sudirman Streets. “However, buses will only stop in Monas terminal,” he said.
Based on Tempo’s observation, Transjakarta bus waits stopped for 15 minutes at Harmoni terminal, but no bikers were seen riding the bus.
