TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jury of the 2014 Anti Corruption Film Festival (ACFFest) announced the winners of the five categories of the festival at Yogayakarta Cultural Park. Participants from Purbalingga dominated the list of the victors.

Chief Jury Arturo Guna Priyatna said that higher scores are given to films that raise the anti corruption spirit. The winning films are ‘ijolan’ by Eka Susialawati from Pubalingga (Student Short Fiction), ‘jumrah’ by Mulyantojoyo from Depok (Public Short Fiction), ‘Adit dan Sopo Jarwo Ojek Payung Biking Bingung’ by I.R Wardana Riza from Jakarta (Animation Film).

Two films by other Purbalingga film makers entitled ‘Robohnya Sekolah Kami’ (The Fall of Our School) by Uli Retno Dewanti and ‘Dilarang Berjalan di Trotoar’ (Forbidden to Walk on the Sidewalk) by Nugroho Budi Santosa each won the Student Short Documentary and Video Citizen Journalism categories.

As many as 333 films made by film makers from across Indonesia were submitted to the festival this year. The jury then selected the films into 27 nominees.

Arturo said that it is surprising that many young film makers were participating in the festival to show their support to the Corruption Eradication Commission.

We note that the young film makers are willing to be anti-corruption agents through their films,” said Arturo.
