TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government condemns the terrorist hostage incident at the Lindt Chocolat Cafe, Martin Place, Sydney, Australia. "Indonesian government calls that such terror cannot be justified under any reasons," the Indonesian Foreign Ministry stated.
Indonesian consulate in Australia continue to monitor recent updates of the situation that recently ended in a successful raid by the Australian police personnel.
The Indonesian consulate also maintained coordination and communication with Australian authority, Indonesian citizens in Sydney, and Moslem community in Sydney. Based on information gathered from the Australian government and the consulate, there was no Indonesian being held hostage inside the cafe.
