TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian athletes have collected 14 gold medals in the ASEAN University Games (AUG) currently held in Palembang. Eight of the gold medals and eight silvers are attributed to wushu team who fight on Friday, December 12.
According to the event’s spokeperson Darmansa, Indonesia has collected total of 14 golds, 19 silvers and 8 bronzes. The host country is now sitting on the second after Thailand who collected 17 golds, 7 silvers and 6 bronzes.
Malaysia sits on the third with 7 golds, 8 silvers and bronzes.
“There three countries who have not collected any medal, including Timor Leste,” Darmansa said on Saturday.
The Deputy Chairman I of the XVII AUG Joko Pramono said that the competition is so dynamic and there is a big chance that Indonesia would lead. More medals are expected from karate, baseball, archery, chess, football, and table tennis.
