TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hasti Kristianto, acting Secretary General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), said his party had prepared a name to fill the Jakarta deputy governor position, to run the Capital administration with Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama.
“The figure that we proposed has experiences at the government,” Hasto said on Friday, November 28, 2014.
According to Hasto, Ahok might also propose a candidate names since he has the right to do so. However, Hasto said, the candidate proposed by Ahok should be reviewed with the PDI-P to find a consensus.
Hasto said the PDI-P has the right to propose a deputy governor candidate since the PDI-P was one of the parties endorsing Jokowi-Ahok during the gubernatorial election back in 2012. In addition the PDI-P had been committed to proposed names who could fulfill promises made by Jokowi and Ahok during their campaign.
However, Hasto refused to reveal the name to be proposed by the PDI-P. Hasto explained that the candidate name was still a subject of change and no decision had been made by the party leader.
