TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesian cinemagoers will be able to enjoy eight of French films presented in in eight cities during the 2014 French Film Festival. The movie fest will be held from December 4 to 7 in Bali, Balikpapan, Bandung, Jakarta, Makassar, Malang, Medan, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta.
"This time around, we will present eight of France's most recent films that have never been screened in Indonesia," Arnaud Miquel, audiovisual coordinator at Institut Français d'Indonésie, said in a press conference in Kineforum, Taman Ismail Marzuki, November 25.
The festival will also will bring award-winning director, producer and animation studio founder Folimage Jaques, who will be sharing his experiences in a meet and greet and Q&A session dubbed Focus.
Another event the festival is holding is a short film competition for Indonesian moviemakers. "This is an opportunity for young creative directors to introduce their work," Arnaud said.
