TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The decreasing price of the world's crude oil, which caused non-subsidized fuel prices to drop, has brought miracles for foreign-owned gas stations. As the disparity of subsidized and non-subsidized fuel price decreases, people prefer to buy fuel from foreign gas stations.
Amar, a motorcycle owner, said that he prefer to buy fuel from Shell gas station compared to Pertamina. "I chose Shell because of the fuel quality," he said.
Amar said that he had always purchase Pertamax fuel from Pertamina. He switched to Shell after the company lower its fuel price to Rp 9,950 per liter.
On 22 November 2014, Pertamina reduced its non-subsidized fuel price type from Rp 10,200 per liter to Rp 9,950 per liter due to the decreasing world’s crude oil price. Shell also dropped their prices. The price for Shell's Super was decreased from Rp 10,500 to Rp 9,950 per liter.
