TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - At least around 853 law enforcers in Kupang City Police Resort, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), have to undergo a urine test on Tuesday, November 25, to make sure whether or not they got positive test result for drugs. “This step is taken to clear the police from drugs usage,” Deputy Chief of Kupang City Police Resort, Commissioner Julian Perdana, said in a statement.
The sudden test caused a shock to all police personnel, causing them to have difficulty in urinating. Hours of queuing occured in front of the toilet. The urine samples, which have been given numbers -- so it will not get mixed -- will be handed to two nurses to be secured in a secured box.
“These urine samples will be taken to a hospital lab,” Doctor Ayu, medical team coordinator of Bhayangkara Hospital Kupang.
They have yet to confirm the number of results that are positive for drugs in the urine test. The hospital is still examining the samples in the lab.
