TEMPO.CO, Hanoi – Philippine helmsman Thomas Dooley praised Indonesia as one of the strongest team in South East Asia. The Philippines and Indonesia are set to clash in the second group match of the 2014 AFF Cup at My Dinh Stadium, Hanoi, Vietnam on Tuesday, November 25, 2014.
Speaking to Antara, Dooley said that all Indonesian players pose a threat despite the less impressive performance against home team Vietnam. Nevertheless, the Philippines themselves have shown that they are more than a worthy contender, as they trashed Laos 4-1 in the premiere match.
Tomorrow’s match will be crucial for both teams, as three points will determine their fate in the South East Asian tournament. Defeating Indonesia means the Philippines will secure a spot in the semifinals without having had to fret about host nation Vietnam in the last group match. As for Indonesia, losing to the Philippines will spell a lesser chance to proceed to the semifinals.
