Ketua Dewan Komisioner OJK Muliaman D. Hadad. ANTARA/Yudhi Mahatma

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Muliaman D. Hadad, the head of the Financial Service Authority’s board of commissioners, said his institution has released a new regulation regarding Non-office Financial Services. The new regulation, which was issued on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, governs requirements, permits and other provisions for banks that provide non-office services.

Muliaman said banks with capital less tan Rp1 trillion (US$83.3 million) or under the BUKU 1 category are allowed to provide such services.

“Basically all banks can provide the non-office services. However, having electronic banking services is a crucial requirement, as well as having supporting human resources, IT and others,” Muliaman said on Saturday, November 22, 2014.

The new regulation states that included in the non-office financial services are basic saving account (BSA), micro financing services and micro insurance. The maximum balance of the BSA is set at Rp20 million (US$1,666.7) and the transaction limit is set at Rp5 million (US$416.7) per month. If the balance exceeds the maximum limit, the rest of the balance will be converted into a regular saving account.
