TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian painting master, a maestro named Sidik W. Martowidjojo, becomes the first among his compatriots to exhibits artworks at the Carrousel du Louvre, Paris, France. Sidik is set to take part at the Louvre Arts Exhibition which will be held starting from December 11 to 14.
Sidik, who is known to always present landscape and scenery in his painting, will bring 21 of his paintings with the theme of ‘Enlighten Orientalism’. The paintings are made using water-based paint. Other than Sidik, there will be painters from 30 countries who will display one painting each.
“I hope that this exhibition will also inspire other Indonesian painters to open exhibition there (Louvre),” said Sidik, who will have other exhibitions in Beijing, Switzerland, and Austria next year.
The Louvre Internationals Arts Exhibition is initiated by the French National Fine Art Society (SNBA). The annual international event has been held for 126 years.
