TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Barcelona starlet Lionel Messi recorded his name as the top scorer in La Liga as he scored hat-trick in victory against Sevilla, earlier today. Messi’s 253 goals broke Telmo Zarra’s record of 251 goals.
The Argentinian team mates celebrated the winning and the record-breaking by lifting and throwing Messi to the air.
In the match at Camp Nou, Barcelona crushed Sevilla 5-1. Messi opened the scoring on 21 minutes to equal Zarra's feat before netting again on 72 minutes to make it 252 Liga goals in 289 appearances and take him beyond the former Athletic Bilbao forward. The Argentina international then completed his hat trick with 12 minutes remaining.
