TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Residents of Ciliwung riverbank, Kampung Pulo, East Jakarta, experience a 4-meter flooding on Thursday, November 20. The flooding occurred after Ciliwung River was overflowed. Water level at Katulampa dam reached 190cm on Wednesday night, November 19.
Jatinegara’s headman Syofian said that water began to flooded houses in the area since 6am in the morning. “The flood height is between 300 to 400 centimeters with a 15-meter radius from the riverbank,” Syofian told Tempo on Thursday, November 20.
As many as 5,152 families with 16,366 people were affected by the flood. “Only 432 people evacuated the compound,” Syofian said. They were spread in several refugee camps.
