TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The heavy showers that poured over Jakarta last night has caused the Ciliwung River to burst its banks along Jl. Raya Bogor in Kampung Rambutan, East Jakarta, around 04.35 Jakarta time on Thursday, November 20, 2014.
According to Tempo's observation, the depth of the flood on Jl. Raya Bogor near Hek Intersection has reached 15 centimetres. The flood waters rushed towards the left-hand side on Jl. Pondok Gede, and continued to flow towards the flyover on Jl. Pondok Gede at the direction of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII).
The flood has begun to cause traffic disruptions on Jl. Raya Bogor. Several motorcycles riders were forced to re-route or park on the sidewalk due to the floods, rendering several pedestrian paths along the street useless for pedestrian, while a number of residents could be observed collecting garbage that became struck on the fences which separates the carriageways.
