TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto said the distribution mechanism of the social compensation funds for the fuel price hike had been governed by the Social Ministry.
“The funds distribution has been specified through PT Pos Indonesia,” Andi said on Tuesday, November 18, 2014.
According to Andi, the Social Ministry has collected data on the deprived eligible to receive the compensation funds beginning today until December 2, 2014. People who have yet to receive the Indonesia Healthy Card (KIH), Indonesia Smart Card (KIP), and Prosperous Family Saving Card (KKS) can collect the funds at PT Pos by using the Social Protection Card (KSP).
“If people have not received the three cards, KSP holders will receive the social protection as a result of fuel subsidy reallocation,” Andi said.
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo announced the government was increasing subsidized fuel prices as part of its efforts to boost the effectiveness of the state budget. According to Jokowi, the government will channel the subsidy to the poor by using KKS, KIP and KIS to safeguard their purchasing power.
