TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Inter Milan confirmed the return of Roberto Mancini as the club’s head coach replacing Walter Mazzarri who was sacked on Friday. Mancini is presented at a news conference today, Saturday, November 15.
"This is a new, stimulating challenge and I'm delighted to embrace the nerazzurri fans again. See you tomorrow," the 49-year-old Mancini said.
Roberto Mancini is no stranger for the Nerazzuri as he had engineered the club during the 2004-2008 period. He won three scudettos and two Coppa Italia titles.
Inter President Erick Thohir bid farewell to Walter Mazzari on the club’s official website on Friday.
"Today I made the difficult decision to suspend Walter Mazzarri as head coach. It was a decision that I reached in conjunction with my management team,” Erick said on the announcement.
"It was a difficult decision because he has been continuously supportive of the direction that we have wanted to take the club, and he has worked tirelessly and selflessly for Inter, with both belief and passion. I would like to thank him sincerely for his efforts.
