TEMPO.CO, Sampang - A number of councilors from the Sampang Regional Representatives Council (DPRD) returned their official uniforms on Monday, November 10, 2014. The councilors claimed the uniforms were made of tawdry fabrics and the stitches “substandard.”
The councilors also said besides the poor quality of the fabric, many of the uniforms did not fit them. Commission II chairman Nasir said the fabric quality were not in line with the allocated budget for the uniforms.
According to Nasir, each councilor would receive four types of uniform and the ones returned were of the first set, while the other three were still tailored.
“If the quality of the unfinished uniforms is still below standard, we will certainly return them,” he said.
The budget earmarked for the uniforms of Sampang councilors is Rp700,000 a piece.
