TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Johan Budi Sapto Pribowo, the deputy of corruption prevention of the Corruption Eradication Commision (KPK) said on Tuesday, November 04, 2014, that Afghanistan has asked the his institution to form a similar institution in the country, claiming that the international community’s faith on the Indonesian anti-graft commission has been increasing.
“The KPK has been asked to build an anti-graft commission in Afghanistan. It’s a great achievement for us,” Johan said at Plaza Mandiri, Jakarta.
Johan added that in addition to Afghanistan, Kuwait has also visited the KPK to conduct a comparative study. The KPK has also received appreciations from other countries, including the United Kingdom, Myanmar, Philippine and Malaysia.
“The KPK has been famous for its boldness in those countries,” Johan said.
According to Johan, the KPK has been made as an example by Middle Eastern countries to establish anti-graft bodies. However, Johan asserted that the KPK would not be complacent by such appreciation from other countries. The KPK, Johan added, must be able to answer public’s expectations over corruption eradication in Indonesia.
