TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Newscastle manager Alan Pardew is having his happy times after his squad overpowered Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City during the week. The English man spilled a simple yet confident target ahead of fixture against Liverpool tonight.
“Really and truly we’ve had two great results away from home and that’s it. Let’s just keep things in perspective and fight like hell against Liverpool. A fourth straight win would lift us into an acceptable position given our outlay and squad. It would get us back on an even keel – but that’s all,” said Pardew to The Guardian.
On the other side, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers salutes Pardew’s achievement but asserted that his squad will go to the field with equally high confidence.
"Great credit to the directors at Newcastle. We all know the pressures when you are not winning games. Pardew is very experienced,” Brendan said to Mirror.co.uk.
"We will go into the game with big confidence. The other night we played as well as we have done all season."
With Daniel Sturridge slammed by injury, Rodgers will put Fabio Borini as the key player against Newscastle.
"With Daniel Sturridge out, it's a miss but it gives opportunities to others. Fabio Borini was outstanding the other night," he added.
Liverpool and Newscastle will have their confidence tested in the 90-minute big match at St James Park, tonight.
