TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo said that the House of Representatives (DPR) must settle any differences and be united. "We’d better be off together," he said. Jokowi added that with the DPR united, the people an look up to their leaders as good role models.
Conflict of interest in the House of Representatives began when the Jokowi-Kalla supporting faction proposed an idea of establishing a 'rival DPR', after the DPR failed to validate the appointment of representatives from the United Development Party (PPP) faction. Without representatives from the PPP faction, all of Jokowi-JK's supporting factions failed to nominate their candidates for the DPR's working commissions.
On Friday, October 31, 2014, the Jokowi-Kalla coalition plans to issue a motion of no confidence towards the Speaker of the DPR. The motion had been previously discussed in a private plenary meeting at the National Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) faction office.
