TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The head of the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management (BPBD), Bambang Musyawardana, said 125 sub-districts in the capital were susceptible to floods in the rainy season.
He added North and West jakarta would likely be the most stricken areas. "Sub-districts in South and East Jakarta are relatively balanced," he said at the City Hall on Thursday, October 30, 2014.
He also said areas adjacent to Ciliwung, Krukut, Angke and Sunter rivers would likely be affected.
Bambang added the government had yet to receive information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on the projected flood volume in the year's rainy season.
He explained the Jakarta administration had prepared Rp20 billion for weather modification to help the capital take on the annual flooding.
