MNC Bank Adds Rp3tn Capital

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - MNC Group CEO Hary Tanoesoedibjo said the group will increase the capital of PT Bank MNC International Tbk (MNC Bank) by Rp3 trillion. The capital addition will be done in stages until 2018.

"The capital addition is to help MNC Bank become a Bank BUKU 3," he said yesterday. Banks classified as BUKU 3 are those that run a full business activity.

To get the additional capital, MNC Bank will offer shareholders to increase their ownership. However, if the public is not interested to expand the size of their shareholding, MNC Kapital will take buy the portion offered to the public.

MNC bank vice president director Benny Purnomo said the capital addition can also be done by issuing bonds and rights issue. If successful, Benny is optimistic that by next year MNC Bank will be able to compete with other banks.
