TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Jakarta Tollroad Development (JTD) communication division head Ngurah Wirawan said on Thursday, October 23, 2014, that two inner-city toll roads will be built in July next year and the land acquisition process will be started in January 2015.
According to Ngurah, a 20-hectar land needs to be acquired for the toll road constructions and the company is currently forming a team with the Public Works Ministry for the land acquisition task.
“Ahok [acting Jakarta governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama] said the toll road development must be completed in 2018,” Ngurah said.
Ngurah revealed that the contract made with Public Ministry’s Toll Road Regulatory Agency requires the company to complete the toll road construction within seven years. Ngurah hopes that the land acquisition will be based on the law on land provision for public facilities that is planned to be applied in 2015.
The two toll roads to be built, which connects Semanan-Sunter and Sunter-Pulogebang, are the first phase to be completed in 2018 and 2019. For the second phase, toll roads connecting Duri Pulo-Kampung Melayu and Kemayoran-Kampung Melayu, are targeted to be fully operational in 2021. Meanwhile those connecting Ulujami -Tanah Abang and Pasar Minggu-Casablanca are targeted to be completed in 2022.
