TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Crime Unit of Indonesian Police have arrested four members of international crime syndicate, affiliated with the Chinese Triad. The four people, Ong Beng An, Hendrik Kho, Thian Hong, and Tjhia Sing Jang, are now under police custody.
"The syndicate is from Hong Kong," said Narcotics Crime Director Brigadier General Anjan Pramuka Putra. Anjan said that the syndicate was producing crystal meth in Kalideres, in which the police secured 22.1 kilograms meth worth Rp44 billion.
Malaysian citizen Ong Beng An acts as the leader in Indonesia. The four-men crew 'cooked' meth using liquid fuel, smuggled from Hong Kong. As for the crime, the suspects now face maximum sentence of death penalty.
