KAI Orders Trainsets from INKA

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT INKA president director Agus Purnomo said his company received an order of five trainsets from state-owned rail company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) in 2014. Agus said that four of the train cars have been delivered to PT KAI.
“The total price for the five trainsets is about Rp160 billion (US$13.3 million),” said Agus, adding that the remaining set will be delivered in November.
Agus explained that the train sets are air-conditioned economy-class trains and each of the trainset comprises of 10 cars and a locomotive. Agus said each car can carry up to 80 passengers.
According to Agus, it took five months to build a car unit. Agus said that PT INKA has yet exported its car or train set. He admitted that the company is trying to penetrate train market in ASEAN countries and Bangladesh.
