TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Jusuf 'JK' Kalla met Chairman of the Functional Group (Golkar) Party Aburizal 'Ical' Bakrie and Party Official Fuad Hasan Mansyur at his office. In the meeting, JK told the reason why he took an office at the palace wing. "It has a solid concrete now," Jusuf Kalla told Ical.
JK said that in his term as SBY’s VP, he once refused the offer to take office in the wing due to security matter. "SBY had asked me to take office in this wing, two-minute away from the presidential office," said JK.
However, recent upgrades allow the office to withstand bomb attack. JK claimed that the VP chamber will remain solid, despite being attacked by a car bomb. "It is safe now."
JK himself appeared to attempt making good relations with the officials of Merah Putih Coalition. The president and his vice try to calm the storm, in light of previous political stir that took place during the Presidential Election.
