500 Foreign College Students Study In Aceh

TEMPO.CO, Banda Aceh - Banda Aceh's Universitas Syiah Kuala (Unsyiah) and Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Ar-Raniry are favored by many students from foreign countries.  Five hundred and 11 foreign citizens are currently recored to study there.

Head of UIN Ar-Raniry Public Relations, Jamaluddin, said many foreign students - mostly Malaysians "generally choose Syariah and Ushuluddin Faculty."

Jamaluddin, on Thursday, said that every year, UIN Ar-Raniry receives hundreds of foreign students. No special treatment toward them.

Meanwhile, Head of Banda Aceh Immigration Office, Adhar, said there were currently 511 foreign citizens with a temporary limited staying permit. "They come from Malaysia, Thailand and Turkey," Adhar added.
