Mandiri Books 14.5 T Profit in Q3 of 2014

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Mandiri (Persero) has gained a profit of Rp 14.5 trillion in the third quarter of 2014.  The number grew 12.9 percent compared to the same period last year. Bank Mandiri CEO Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that the profit gaining was the result of a 26.5 percent interest growth. "This year is difficult, all bankers can make money, but only some of them can make profit amidst interest grow," Budi told reporters during his public presentation at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Jakarta, on Thursday, October 23, 2014.

The third party fund that was collected by Bank Mandiri has grown up to Rp 590.9 trillion in September, compared to the Rp 514.2 trillion in the same period last year. From this achievement, the sum of light fund in the form of saving and checking accounts that were collected until the third quarter of 2014 has reached Rp 361.8 trillion.

This overall growth was mainly triggered by a 16.4 percent growth of checking account, which value is equal to Rp 18.5 trillion.

In an effort to improve public fund collection, Bank Mandiri continues to expand its branch office networks to 245 offices, increase the number of ATMs to 13,309 units, distributing 262,855 Electronic Data Capture (EDC) units and establishes an additional 82 micro business network.
