Indonesian Homeless Team Scores 14 Goals against Koreans

TEMPO.CO, Bandung - Indonesian national team bested South Korean 14-1 in a street soccer match of the Homeless World Cup yesterday, October 22. Indonesia will have tough matches against Mexico, Portugal, Brazil, Germany and Argentina in the next phase.
Indonesia started the competition poorly as the team was defeated by the Hungarians in a penalty shootout, but later improved its performance in the next two matches. In each game against Scotland and Norway, Indonesia managed to score seven goals and conceded five goals and advanced further in the competition.
Indonesia currently occupies the third position in the group table and collects 10 points under Scotland with 11 points and Hungary with 12 points. Based on the regulations, three best teams of each group will advance to the next phase. There will be 24 teams divided into four groups of six teams. Two best teams of each group will advance to the quarter final.
Indonesia has participated in the competition since 2011. Earlier experience, team manager Febby Arhemsyah, said that strong teams were usually from South America and East Europe. Therefore, Febby said, Indonesia is targeting to reach seventh position at the competition.
