TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Democrat Party Faction chairman Edhie “Ibas” Baskoro Yudhoyono said that no member of his party was offered with any ministerial position by newly-inaugurated President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.

“Jokowi has never offered any [positions],” Ibas said on Tuesday, October 21, 2014.

According to Ibas, the meeting between Democratic Party’s executive chairman Sjarifuddin Hasan and Vice President Jusuf Kalla did not have any impact on the party’s position. Ibas added that the Democratic Party would maintain its position as the balancing power.

“We would like to stay out of the government,” Edhie said.

Ibas said that his party would support government’s pro-people programs and it would not hesitate to express objection if any decision was against the people’s prosperity.

Jokowi is currently preparing for a number of seats in his cabinet for political figures and professional. Earlier, it was reported that two ministerial positions were to be allocated for Prabowo’s coalition parties.
