The two goals in the first half made by Nicolas Nkoulou and Andre-Pierre Gignac in front of 61,856 spectators in Stade Velodrome, making OM grasping 25 points from 10 matches.
Marseille have surpassed rival Paris St Germain with seven points after the defending champion defeated RC Lens 3-1 last Friday.
In the last eight matches, Marseille only scored three goals.
Toulouse places 10th in the French Ligue, standing with 114 points, Reuters reported.
