TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Industri Kapal Indonesia (Indonesian Shipping Industry / IKI) said that they were ready to give their support for the sea toll project initiated by President elect Joko Widodo because the program, according to the company, is very good in connecting islands throughout Indonesia.

One of the supports given by PT IKI is to prepare infrastructures in the shipping sector.

“We give our full support for the seal toll program initiated by Jokowi. Besides, the sea toll program has the shipping capacity of 5.000 deadweight coefficient, and that’s something we can do,” said PT IKI Administration and Finance Director Aurelius Larope to Tempo on Saturday, October 18, 2014.

Larope added that in 2014, PT IKI has made an investment of Rp159 billion to improve all facilities and to add facilities of ship dockings, as well as to improve the quality of human resources.

"Investment in the third quarter of 2014 has reached 60 percent.  Our investment focused on the repairmen of ships. To date, at least 67 ships have docked at PT IKI," kata Larope.

Larope further said that until the third quarter of 2014, PT IKI’s income rose by 34 percent compared to the same period in 2013, which was worth Rp52 billion. Income gained rose by 28 percent or amounts to Rp7 billion.

"This year, our target income was at Rp84 billion, or a 66.5 billion increase from the income in 2013,” Larope said.
