Russia Expresses Interest to Discuss Cooperation with Indonesia

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Russian Trade and Industry Minister Denis Manturov hoped that President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will soon meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss cooperation between both countries.
Maturov said that Indonesia and Russia have the opportunity to increase trade volume between the two countries, as well as to build cooperation related to Russian technology, particularly those related to nickel and other projects.
Maturov said Jokowi have been told about the meeting plan.
"Our president also congratulated [Jokowi] and expressed hopes for next year," he said.
Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla's inauguration as the new Indonesian president and vice presdent was attended by several representatives of friendly countries, including Brunei Darussalam's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot and US Secretary of State John Kerry.
