TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Keuken Festival that is held in Bandung on Sunday, October 19 is designed to spoil its visitors with free snacks and gifts. Even trashes resulted from food containers can be redeemed for door prizes such as books or power banks. The fifthly held festival will be opened at 11:00 local time until 22:00 local time at Bandung Town Hall plaza, Jalan Wastukencana.
The organizer has designed this year festival to be environmentally friendly.
“Participants of the festival are not allowed to use styrofoam as food container,” said Nur Atika, a member of the organizer, to Tempo.
Glass and ceramic wares are materials allowed as the food ccontainers. Visitors who bring their own containers will be given five to twenty percent discount. Not only that, visitors who come to Bandung by bicycles, planes, trains, buses or travel agency are also eligible for discount by showing their tickets.
This eco-friendly culinary festival is initiated by designer community House The House and involves 43 participants.
