TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Korean movie lovers around Jakarta, Bekasi, Tangerang, Bandung and Batam will be entertained with a free screening of 11 Korean movies starting from October 24 to October 28. The event will be held as part of 2014 Korea Indonesia Film Festival.
“This year is the first time that Indonesian movies are also screened,” said member of Korea Indonesia Festival Advisory Board Jeff Lim during the press conference in Blitzmegaplex, Grand Indonesia, on Thursday.
The festival is entering the sixth year and celebrating 41st anniversary of Indonesia-South Korea diplomatic relationship. Rezky Seokgi Kim, the Director of Korean Culture Center said that this is good opportunity bring Indonesian community closer with Korean community.
“I want to introduce Indonesian film to them,” said Kim.
Drama film ‘The Confession’ directed by Lee Do-Yoon is scheduled to open the festival. The star of the film Lee Kwang Soo will also present in the opening. Along with ‘The Confession’, there will be comedy film ‘Miss Granny’, animation film ‘Mr Go’ and ‘Pororo’, also historical film ‘Roaring Current’. In the list of Indonesian movies to be screened, there are ‘Habibie dan Ainun’, ‘Sang Penari’ (The Dancer), ‘5 cm’, and ‘9 Summers 10 Autumn’.
Film enthusiasts are welcome to visit Blitzmegaplex cinema for free tickets starting from today. Since the seat is limited, Festival Manager Trisiska encouraged people to register soon.
