TransJakarta Routes Possibility During Inauguration Tomorrow

Passengers queue to get on a TransJakarta bus at Kota Shelter in Jakarta (8/11).

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - TransJakarta Management Unit is preparing to alter TransJakarta's route during the presidential inauguration tomorrow. The alternation is to anticipate the people's party and parade initiated by the volunteers.

TransJakarta management unit chief Pargaulan Butarbutar said earlier today that three TransJakarta corridors, Blok M-Kota, Pulo Gadung-Harmoni and Pinang Ranti-Pluit, will be affected by the alteration.

"We have prepared several scenarios," Pargaulan said. He explained that if the corridor 1 (Blok M-Kota) was overcrowded, the arrival time of the buses would be adjusted. The route will also be shortened from Blok M to HI Roundabout and from Kota to Harmoni.

The corridor 2 (Pulo Gadung-Harmoni) would be affected by the possibility of people gathering at the City Hall and the National Museum (Monas). If both areas were crowded, the buses will be redirected to Juanda-Pejambon-Kwitang-Pulo Gadung and vice versa.

Finally, the TransJakarta buses at corridor 9 (Pinang Ranti-Pluit) would be redirected to the inner city toll road if Senayan is not accessible. "These scenarios [will] depend on the situations on the field," said Pargaulan.
