TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Political expert from the Center for Strategic and International Studies, J. Kristiadi, said that Prabowo Subianto's Merah-Putih coalition does not care for the public's interest. "Their victory is solely for their own group," Kristiadi told Tempo.

He said that the Merah-Putih Coalition's victory on securing important positions on the House of Representatives and the People's Consultative Assembly is meant to accommodate their own interest. "We name it government-crippling politics," he said.

Therefore, Kristiadi said that the people need to make a stand to secure Jokowi's administration that is set to issue pro-public policy. However, Kristiadi warned that it will meet the long and winding road against the massive coalition of Prabowo.

"Yet, do not forget that they are internally corrupted, such as in the Functional Group Party [Golkar]," he said. Kristiadi believed that Golkar will not last long in the coalition, given that the party is internally stirred by the desire to overthrow Party Chairman Aburizal Bakrie.
