TEMPO.CO, Sofia - Real Madrid walked out with three points from Sofia, after defeating home team Ludogorets Razgrad 2-1. Playing in Vasil Levski Stadium, Madrid, was one goal down six minutes in the first half with a goal from Marcelinho.
El Real, however, had a luck streak, having awarded with two penalties in the first half. Cristiano Ronaldo, stepping up for both, failed to score the first penalty, but redeemed his mistake in the second chance - equalizing the scoreline. Madrid's winning goal was from Karim Benzema in the second half.
The victory in Sofia cemented Madrid on top of the table with two victories in two played fixtures. Tailing Madrid is Swiss sensation FC Basel and Premier League giant Liverpool. Madrid is set to face Liverpool in the next fixture, in which the latter club is desperate for points in their European comeback.
