TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) has invested US$90 million to build an LNG storage terminal in the Port of Tanjung Benoa, Bali. Company official says the terminal will be built by PT Perta Daya Gas, Pertagas' subsidiary in gas transportation, LNG storage and regasification.
Corporate Secretary Wianda A. Pusponegoro said the construction is aimed at ensuring the continuity of LNG sales contracts between PT Pertagas Niaga—another subsidiary—and state power company PT PLN's subsidiary PT Indonesia Power. The LNG will be distributed to the Pesanggaran gas power plant in Bali's capital, Denpasar.
With the terminal, Pertagas Niaga and Indonesia Power will be able to determine how much LNG volume can be supplied in the contract.
Wianda refused to disclose the sales contract value, which is valid for 16 years, between the two companies. She only said that Pertagas Niaga has agreed to supply 3.36 million tons of LNG to Indonesia Power from 2019 to 2035.
