TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Microsoft corporation has delay launch on Xbox One console in China which was due for release on Tuesday.
The biggest software company in the world said it will release Xbox One at the end of this year. However, Microsoft did not mention its reason for the delay, Reuters reported.
This delay is a series of obstacles experienced by Microsoft in China. The company is in the middle of investigations for anti-trust violation related with Windows and Microsoft Office operating system.
The government of China revoked 2,000 bans on console games this year.
Microsoft have reached an deal with TV internet manufacturer in China, BesTV New Media, to create a joint venture company to manufacture Xbox One in Shanghai’s Free Trade Zone last year.
In July, Microsoft mentioned that Xbox One without a Kinect system detection will be retailed at 3,699 yuan (US$602.37), while Xbox One with Kinect will be retailed at 4,299 yuan (US$700).
China is the third largest gaming market in the world with an income increase of more than one-third from 2012 reaching nearly US$14 million last year.
However, piracy, PC domination and mobile games leave small spaces for console games and game sellers.
On May, Sony said it will build a joint venture company with Shanghai Oriental Pearl. A group to bring Playstation to China, Reuters reported.
